TAKING A STEP TO HAVING A BREAK AS LEADERS!

Working hard will drain the joy of life from you if you’re just looking to work hard. Yes, Your heart is in the right place but unfortunately your approach is wrong.

We have all heard the phrase “you shouldn’t be working hard work smarter”. However, there is nothing wrong with working hard or working smarter you just need to know when work is getting the better of you and draining the joy of life especially, for you as a leader, and for those you lead.

You need to reach within and find the solution, reach out to others for help there is nothing wrong with doing so. I used to be so afraid of speaking In front of you all I had thoughts like what if I don’t know what to say, what if it’s the wrong thing to be saying? I worked so hard on creating my words, the speeches and getting all sorts of thoughts.  After my speaking events I would sit and think all kinds of negatives thoughts and work myself up for the next speaking engagement.

What had I got from all this? Realisation that I and You were not created to carry these heavy burdens that we have created for ourselves, not to be weighed down by them or to worry with stress and frustrations. It really comes to connecting with our physiology, our emotions and mentality.

The reasons why I am saying and sharing this with you is because we really do need to be connected and realistic with what’s going on within us. Take regular breaks, take time out for yourself, do your journaling and at the end of each day take some time to write out some reflections on your day. this will benefit you mentally, emotionally even physically and with this, bigger and better things will always come along and will help make you a better leader.
